Welcome to Episode 15 of Forging Fortune, an inspirational podcast for liberators, leaders, and impact entrepreneurs.

Today is a very special episode as I welcome Shira Leibowitz, Author of Haven of Hope and Founder of both Revabilities and Discovery Village. Shira is a lifelong educator who is creating an entire movement based on collaborative impact.  Having opened and operated a daycare facility during the Pandemic in one of the nation’s hot spots, Shira discovered firsthand that resilience and creativity could thrive in any environment. Join us as we explore education, wellness, play, and justice in our world today. A special thank you to Shira for her dedication to breaking down the barriers and constructs of education.

Meet Dr. Shira Leibowitz

Discovery Village is a premier project and play-based childcare center and preschool located in Tarrytown, NY. Shira is co-author of The Coach Approach To School Leadership: Leading Teachers to Higher Levels of Effectiveness. Her upcoming book, published in Summer 2022, is titled Havens of Hope: Ideas for Redesigning Education From The COVID-19 Pandemic.

Shira holds a Ph.D. in Education and is an experienced school leader who served for 20 years as a principal of nursery through eighth-grade independent schools in the greater New York City area.
